OPEN ROLES

MECHANICAL / MECHATRONICS ENGINEER

This is a full-time position working with our existing team of Mechanical Engineers and Designers. Working from our modern facility in Port Melbourne, you will be involved in the design and delivery of complex, large-scale animatronic figures for major international theme parks.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
– Currently resident in Australia (preferably Melbourne) and available for an interview at short notice.
– Solid academic record from a respected institution.
- 5-7 years mechanical engineering experience in the design & production of automating machinery with electronics (such as factory machinery, assembly robots, lifting equipment, etc.)
- Involvement in engineering design projects from concept through to completion
- ‘Whole of system’ design thinking would be considered highly advantageous
- Knowledge of methods for the design of safe systems using hazard analysis techniques (e.g. Energy and Toxicity analysis, FMEA, etc.)
- Knowledge of a variety of different materials and fabrication techniques, particularly welding and machining processes
- Demonstrated skills in SolidWorks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent organisational skills and work ethic

PLC PROGRAMMER

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

- Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Minimum of 5 years experience in PLC programming with involvement in projects from concept to completion.
- A self-starter skilled in industrial control system software applications and programming languages such as SQL, C#, Python.
- Experience with Beckhoff industrial controllers and the TwinCAT 3 software platform.
- Demonstrated experience with motion control systems including hydraulic, electric and servo actuation.
- Demonstrated understanding of Machine Functional Safety.
- Familiarity with object-oriented development methodologies and SQL databases.
- Familiarity with software development support tools such as Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Trello and Confluence.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and commitment to quality.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Working with our existing team of Electrical, Mechatronic and Control Systems Engineers, you will be involved in all aspects of Electrical Engineering; from clearly documenting design, to developing electrical systems, and actively participating in the commissioning & testing of the product.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

- Minimum of 5 years demonstrated electrical engineering experience in the production of controls & power distribution systems for machinery, with involvement in the electrical design from concept through to completion.
- Experience in wiring design for machines and developing wiring schematics
- Knowledge of methods for the design of safe systems using hazard analysis techniques (e.g. FMEA, HRA etc.).
- Knowledge of safe design for machinery (AS4024, IEC 13849)
- Experience with a range of industrial motion equipment including electric and hydraulic servo design highly regarded
- Intermediate skills in project management
- Relevant software applications, notably CAE design programs, Eplan Electric P8, and SolidWorks 3D, as well as the Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of PLC control systems
- Knowledge of battery powered mobile equipment and/or portable power systems
- Experience with designing to international standards. UL 508A Highly regarded.
- Conduct minor electrical fabrication (fault finding to component level)
- Strong communication skills including the ability to elicit requirements from clients and colleagues and interpret the implications from a ‘real world’ perspective.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

CAD DRAFTER (SOLIDWORKS & PDM EXPERIENCE)

The CAD Drafter is responsible for undertaking timely, efficient, quality Mechanical engineering CAD drafting work on Creature Technology Co. (CTC) projects.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrated capacity for high-quality, timely engineering CAD drafting in the production of machinery.
- Highly experienced SolidWorks Drafter.
- Experience in the production of engineering drawings to drafting standards such as AS1100.
- Experience with large drawing package releases (e.g. several hundred drawings).
- Knowledge & experience with automation of drafting tasks using MS Excel & Visual Basic highly desirable.
- SolidWorks PDM administration experience and formal training highly desirable.
- Knowledge of a variety of different materials and fabrication techniques, particularly welding and machining processes.
- Good communication skills including the ability to elicit requirements from clients and colleagues and interpret the implications from a ‘real world’ perspective.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work well within a team, collaborating and consulting with subject matter experts.

MECHANICAL / MECHATRONICS ENGINEER (GRADUATE)

We are looking for a recent graduate of a respected, Melbourne-based Engineering institution to join our growing team of Engineers to assist with mechanical engineering design on animatronic creatures and complementary elements under supervision.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
– Currently resident in Australia (preferably Melbourne) and available for an interview at short notice.
– Solid academic record from a respected institution.
– Demonstrated capacity for engineering.
– Some knowledge of a variety of different materials and fabrication techniques.
– Good communication skills – both written and verbal.
– Ability to work well within a team in a flexible, collaborative and consultative manner.
– Willingness to observe and actively learn from others.
– Familiarity with relevant software applications, notably Solidworks and the Microsoft Office suite.

SCADA PROGRAMMER

We are a looking for a highly skilled individual to work with our established team of Control Systems Engineers in all aspects of SCADA development; from clearly documenting the system design, developing the control system software, and actively participating in the commissioning & testing of the product.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

- Australian citizen or permanent resident.
Minimum 5 years experience in SCADA development with involvement in projects from concept to completion.
- A self-starter skilled in SCADA software applications and programming languages such as SQL, C#, Python and JS React.
- Experience with the Ignition SCADA platform or sigificant relatable experience with other SCADA packages.
- Demonstrated experience creating SCADA applications for the control and monitoring of motion control systems.
- Familiarity with object-oriented development methodologies and SQL databases.
- Familiarity with software development support tools such as Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Trello and Confluence.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and commitment to quality.
